As you may know from changing a baby’s diaper, s@!* happens. This can apply to your breast pump too. Things breaks, accidents occur at the worst time, and important parts can go missing. BUT when it comes to providing breast milk you don’t want to be without your breast pump for long! That’s why before making a purchase consider all of your options, including the best breast pump warranty, so you’ll be protected in case something happens.
Note: Always keep your receipt and if possible, register your breast pump with the manufacturer the day you receive it.
The Best Breast Pump Warranty
First Place: Spectra
All Spectra warranties cover your breast pump and accessories. The warranty begins on the original purchase date.
Breast pumps are covered for two years while accessories are covered for 90 days when purchased from Spectra BABY USA directly, through a durable medical equipment provider (DME), or an authorized retailer.
Spectra authorized retailers include:
- Target
- Bed bath and beyond
- Buy Buy Baby
- Pattern (IServe) on Amazon – All other retailers on Amazon are not authorized.
The red tape:
- To submit a warranty claim you must provide proof of purchase via a receipt, invoice, or email.
- Warranties are only valid in the USA. Replacements are only shipped to addresses in the USA.
- Spectra breast pumps are single-use only. The warranty only applies to the original user, it’s non transferable.
- Warranties do not cover damage caused by an accident, misuse, normal wear and tear, improper use, unauthorized maintenance or repair, neglect of maintenance to the pump or accessories, or failure to follow written instructions for use.

Second Place: Motif Medical
Motif Medical breast pumps are covered under a one year manufacturer’s warranty from the original date of purchase. Accessories are covered under a 90 day warranty.
The Red Tape:
You must register your breast pump and accessories online to access the warranty.
Third Place: Phillips Avent
Avent electric breast pumps are covered for 24 months from the original purchase date. Manual breast pumps and accessories are not covered.
The Red Tape:
- Avent breast pumps will not be covered if there is any damage due to improper product use or failure to follow manual instructions. Pumps will also not be covered if any actions that are advised against in the manual are taken.
- Using unauthorized accessories with Avent breast pumps voids the warranty.
- Improper voltage to the breast pump or damage due to power conversion voids the warranty.
- You need to provide proof of purchase, then your breast pump will either be repaired or replaced if the warranty was not voided.

Forth Place: Ardo Medical
Ardo breast pumps have a 400 hour warranty that’s good for 400 hours of use or for use up to one year, depending on which is better for their moms.
The red tape:
No hoops to jump through are listed.
Fifth Place: Ameda
Ameda breast pumps and accessories are covered under a one year warranty from the original date of purchase.
The Red Tape:
You must call into their customer service department to try a few troubleshooting tips. If a problem is found relating to the product failing, it will be replaced. If the issue is not related to the product being the root cause of the issue, you will be provided with more troubleshooting tips.
Sixth Place: Lansinoh
The Lansinoh warranty is not listed. While some sites claim that Lansinoh breast pumps are covered for one year and accessories are covered for 90 days, it’s not clarified if this is correct or not.
The Lansinoh disclaimer states that thier services are provided as is and as available, without any warranties of any kind.
You may have to simply message their customer service department here to learn about their policies.
Seventh Place: Medela
Medela breast pumps are covered for one year from the original purchase date and accesories are covered for 90 days. Manual breast pumps are not covered under any warranty. Replaced or repaired breast pumps and Medela parts are covered for an additional 90 days or through the end of the year based on which period is longer.
The Red Tape:
- You must have proof of purchase from an authorized seller or Durable Medical Equipment provider like Aeroflow Breastpumps.
- You must return the product to see if repairs can be made. You are responsible for shipping costs.
- Medela will not cover items purchased by an unauthorized distributor, or if the item was damaged due to improper handling, failure to follow opperating instructions, unauthorized repair, unauthorized maintenance, use with unauthorized accesories, improper transport, damage from normal wear and tear, stress, incorrect voltage, accidents, fits, or other hazzards.
Eighth Place: Elvie
Elvie breast pumps fall under a manufacturer’s warranty that covers defects in materials or workmanship for two years from the date of purchase and accessories for 90 days.
The Red Tape:
- You must submit your claim to Chiro which reserves the right to hold an investigation period to determine the cause of the defect and may refuse to replace the product based on their findings.
- You need to provide proof of purchase.
- The Elvie breast pump is for single use only. Sharing the pump voids the warranty.
- Reasonable evidence must be included with warranty claims.
- The warranty is only valid if the product is purchased from authorized retailers.
- You must return the damaged items.
- The warranty does not cover damage from wear and tear, physical or natural destruction, accidents, misuse, neglect, external causes, or attempts to open the hub.
Ninth Place: Willow
The Willow Breast Pump warranty covers manufacturer defects in materials or workmanship for 12 months from the date that the unit is first used and 90 days for accessories.
The Red Tape:
- The Willow warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse, accident, normal wear and tear, improper use, unauthorised maintenance or repair, use with unauthorized accessories, or failure to follow written instructions.
- The Willow breast pump cannot be submerged in water, washed or sanitized, placed in the fridge or freezer, or used during take off or landing on an airplane.
- The Willow Flanges cannot be used in the microwave or microwave sterilization bags.
- You must return the product with a brief note describing the issue with the correct Returned Goods Authorization Number.
Tenth Place: Hygiea Health
Hygeia Health breast pumps have a one year warranty when purchased through Hygeia or an authorized reseller. The warranty has no mention of accesories.
The Red Tape:
- To meet the Hygeia warranty requirements you must call in with the pump and follow troubleshooting protocols with the customer care center first.
- If the pump isn’t directly purchased through Hygeia then proof of purchase is required.
- The Hygeia warranty doesn’t apply to defects for customer misuse such as mishandling, dropping or knocking the pump over, improper repair, improper operation, or unauthorized pump modification.
- Hygiea must also receive your broken pump within 7 days of completing an RMA form after the conditions above have been met.

Eleventh Place: Freemie Hands-Free Breast Pump
The Freemie warranty covers the breast pump collection system against manufacturer defects in materials or workmanship for 60 days.
The Red Tape:
- You must provide the date of purchase.
- Dao Health will not cover the Freemie if the damage is a result of misuse, abuse, or alteration.
- Dao health reserves the right to replace or repair the Freemie with their discretion.
- You must return the product with a return merchandise authorization and you will be responsible for the shipping costs.
Twelfth Place: Rumble Tuff
Rumble Tuff accessories are covered by a 120 day warranty from the original date of purchase.
Rumble Tuff breast pump motors are covered by a one year warranty from the original date of purchase.
The red tape:
- Proof of purchase is required.
- The warranties are only covered in the U.S., otherwise refer to the international dealer.
- The warranty does not cover items damaged or lost during shipping.
- Rumble Tuff does not cover products that have been misused, abused, operated incorrectly, or paired with unauthorized accessories.
- You must send in the broken items for repair. If the items are covered under the warranty they will either be replaced and fixed. Fixed breast pumps will be returned to you or replaced.
If your items are not covered under the warranty once you return them you can pay:
- $25 to receive a new pump within 2 weeks of Rumble Tuff receiving the broken pump, plus the cost of repair or the price of a new pump.
- $45 for second day delivery plus the costs mentioned above.
- $65 for next day delivery, plus the costs mentioned above.
